Surat Diamond Bourse: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the world's largest office building Surat Diamond Bourse. Central and state ministers including state chief minister Bhupendra Patel were also present on the occasion. Apart from this, diamond industry experts including Chairman of Diamond Bourse and members of Bourse Committee were present. Notably, the Surat Diamond Burse built in Khajod area of Surat will be a milestone for the economic development of the state and the country. This office is considered bigger than America's Pentagon.
Former Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel laid the foundation stone of SDB and Dream City project in February 2015. Surat Diamond Burse has been constructed at a cost of 3400 crores. It is built on 35.54 acres of land.
Surat Diamond Burse is a major trading center for rough and polished diamond trade. Surat Diamond Burse is the world's largest interconnected building. With more than 4,500 interconnected offices, it is said to be larger than the Pentagon. After the inauguration of this building, 1.5 lakh people will get employment from here.

SDB Building i.e. Surat Diamond Burse is the world's largest office complex with a floor area of over 67 lakh square feet located in Khajod village near Surat city. Its cost is around 3000 crore rupees. SDB has about 4,500 diamond trading offices. Built on a 35.54-acre plot within Dream City, the mega structure has nine towers and 15 floors of ground floor office space ranging from 300 sq ft to 1 lakh sq ft.
67000 people, businessmen and visitors can work together here. There are high security checkpoints, public announcement system before entering the building. The building also has facilities like bank, restaurant, diamond lab etc. for members on the ground floor.

This is the largest office building in the world. From trading in rough diamonds to selling polished diamonds—both will be here. World class infrastructure has been created. Every office has its connectivity.
More than 4000 cameras and state-of-the-art control rooms have been installed
here, so that strong security arrangements have been made. Many diamond
merchants from Mumbai have started their business here even before the
inauguration.
